The Paris Air Show


Organized by the Salon International de l'Aeronautique et de l'Espace (SIAE), a subsidiary of Groupement des Industries Françaises Aéronautiques et Spatiales (GIFAS), the 2013 Paris Air Show has held every odd year since its beginnings in 1909, showcases the latest technical advancements and developments made in the aviation and aerospace industry. Rated largely a commercial event, the air show whose main purpose is to showcase both military and commercial aircraft to potential customers- airlines, military personnel’s and civilians. It is here that most orders for the aircrafts are placed. However, the main highlights of the show are the amazing flying displays which often leave the visitors speechless and give the buyers one or the more reason to buy one

When is the Paris Air Show 2013


So, if you want to catch some of these dazzling displays then make it a point to be at the venue from anywhere between 8.30 am- 6.00 pm. This week long air show will began from 17th June and last till the 23rd June. While the first 4 days of the show are opened for the trade participants, the last three days are meant for the general public. For members of the press however, the timings are from 7am -7pm.

Getting to the Show


With the Le Bourget exhibition center located some 11 kms north-northeast of Paris in the districts of Bonneuil-en-France and Dugny getting to the venue is not much of a problem. You can either take a cab /taxi or the bus or opt for the RER and or the metro. If coming by the RER, you will be required to get down at the Le Bourget" station and then take the shuttle earmarked for the event. If coming by the metro , then you can take the Line 7 and Line 12 to the La Courneuve - 8 mai 1945" station or the Porte de la Chapelle" station and then take the bus ( number 152 or 350) for the Michelet PARC expositions" stop.

Alternately, if you don’t feel like travelling much, you can always rent out one of the many Short Stay vacation rentals and holiday homes located nearby the exhibition ground.

Paris Air Show 2013 Tickets



To view the show, you will be required to buy the tickets. Tickets can be booked online through the show’s online ticket counter. Tickets are valid for a day and cost 13.50 Euros. There is a free entry to the show on the first day only for College students on producing a valid student ID.

Standard 1-day ticket price: €13.50 including tax

Group rate: €11.50 including tax (for groups of a minimum of 15 people buying their tickets simultaneously and visiting on the same day)

Grandstand tickets (numbered seats): €10.00 including tax. Viewing stand tickets do not include entry to the show, you will need to purchase your entry ticket separately(1).

Show entrance(2) is free for children aged under 7.
