Located in a quiet, one-way cobbled street of Old Town, this 55 square metre one-bedroom Barcelona holiday apartment is the apt place for you to escape from the hectic routine of daily life. Relax and rejuvenate your body and mind, lazing around in this beautiful home, watching the scenic, colourful Old Town natives pass by from the balcony or simply unwinding with a movie from our large collection of DVDs.
The entire apartment is done up tastefully and appointed to ensure maximum comforts. The living room is large and spacious, features two sofas, one of which is a double sofa bed, has traditional wooden beamed ceilings and opens up onto the balcony. The airy feel of this room leaves you refreshed; this room generally serves as the recreation and entertainment hub. One end of the room is also your dining area.
The kitchen is tastefully done up in wood with a granite countertop; hob and chimney, conventional oven and microwave, toaster, coffee maker, refrigerator and freezer, dishwasher and washing machine are some of appliances provided to assist you in meeting your day-to-day as well as special gourmet needs.
Walk through the kitchen into the bedroom, where a cosy double bed awaits you. A split air-conditioning unit keeps the room cool. Wooden beamed ceilings continue here as well. The en-suite bath has a shower cubicle and a large vanity area. Overall, the entire apartment is perfect for a couple on a romantic rendezvous and even a small family of four.
Neighbourhood and Location of Barcelona Old Town Holiday Apartment
Once you feel refreshed, head out to explore and savour the rich culture, magnificent architecture and colourful markets of Old Town, Gothic Quarter and more. The location of this holiday apartment is ideal and is one of the aspects that make it such a popular holiday accommodation.
The Gothic Quarter is just 5 minutes away as is the Cathedral, the monument of Arc Triomf, Picasso Museum and the modernist Palace of Music. A 10-minute walk takes you to the beach and the Port. The train station (5-minute walk) as well as the bus station (10-minute walk) are within walking distance and connect you to the rest of Barcelona and neighbouring areas with ease. Trains to the airport run every 30 minutes and connect you to the airport within 30-35 minutes.
Additional Information of Barcelona Old Town Holiday Apartment
Smoking is allowed only out in the balcony. Guests driving into the city or hiring a car can avail the parking facility at the end of the street for 68 Euros per week.
Cot is available on request. To book the apartment, a 20% deposit is required in addition to the RatedApartments.com Prepayment Fee. A refundable security deposit of 100 Euros needs to be paid at the time of arrival. An additional Cleaning Fee is also levied.

My partner and I stayed at this apartment in Sep / Oct last year for a weekend, The process from booking right through to leaving was seamless. The apartment was exactly as described and Guillermo went above and beyond his duties in checking us in and providing priceless advice on what to see and do in Barcelona. The area itself was perfect for us in terms of proximity to restaurants / nightlife. We loved coming in after a tough day's sight-seeing and opening the balcony doors and chilling out with a bottle of rioja bought in the shop next door for 3 euro (which costs £10 at home). We fell in love with Barcelona and this in a large way down to staying in this aparment and the service provided by both Guillermo and Carlos from start to finish. Thanks again!

We had a great time in Barcelona. Guillermo was great and very helpful in pointing out the places to go see and places to eat. The apartment was great, very well kept. Everything we needed was there and more. The apartment was also in a great location and easy to get to everywhere we needed to go. Also all the emails were very clear and informative about how to get to the apartment and everything we needed to know. After exchanging Emails with Carlos we had a warm feeling: Our stay in Barcelona would be comfortable. Reality exceeded our expectations. Guillermo was waiting for us at the Arc de Triomf even though we were late for at least half an hour to meet him. He helped with luggage and bombarded us with very useful information on Barcelona, surrounding area, with practical advices. Apartment itself has state of the art kitchen, windows, doors etc. That’s besides the point that location is great, practically walking distance to all points of interest. We had a wonderful time in Barcelona and staying at this apartment. The entire process working with owners was very easy. Not only was the apartment perfect but the location was the best for being able to get anywhere on foot. We enjoyed the night life and activities available which your employee Guillermo was so kind to point out. Traveling with two teens it was nice to have so much going on in the area. Guillermo is a gem. He helped us so very much with information and logistics of the area. Our stay was much improved due to his efforts on the owners behalf. Thank you again for having such a clean, neat apartment for a reasonable price available. Your ad was truly accurate and we would use it again should we return to Barcelona in the future!

Our whole experience, from contacting Carlos to departing was was without stress. Carlos has it down to a science so we felt very taken care of. The apartment was clean, well air conditioned, quiet for sleeping and adequately appointed. It is so centrally located and in such a beautiful safe neighborhood we three women were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, including the beach and come home late at night without worry. There is a little market for essentials right downstairs and a bakery to die for on the block. Going up and down the stairs to the apartment was just the right amount of exercise for us. Would highly recommend this rental. It was worth more than the cost.

After a very informative first email, securing the property was a very easy and straight forward affair. On our arrival, Carlos was very kind and came to pick us up at the airport bus stop and walked us to the property. He helped us carry the luggage upstairs and gave us a long informative explanation on the apartment and the surrounding area, giving us tips on where was best to buy what. We took on his kind offer to walk us around the neighbourhood; we found the apartment very beautiful and all appliances worked well and the city is really stunning and just wish we had stayed longer. The dvd collection is impressive as well, with films in many different languages and the kitchen is very well equipped. All in all we agreed this was the best property in our 1 month Europe tour for its beauty, equpment and location and for the charming committed and proffessional owner

This apartment was excellent and in a wonderful location. We were able to walk to so many great spots in El Born/Old Town, Las Ramblas, Barcelonetta. We loved all of the narrow streets/alley ways and character. We look down onto the street and saw the local people carrying on with their days and the charm of Barcelona. The apartment is close to the metro which is so easy to navigate. It is also new and very clean with everything you could need for your stay. Karen and Carlos sent us information that was helpful to find the apartment and Guillermo, who met us at the apartment, was a world of help for us. He even walked us to the metro and local restaurants and locations that were important for our stay. We would highly recommend this apartment to our friends and family. Spotlessly clean, gourmet kitchen, great balcony with view of street, exactly as described. Quiet at night. Walking distance to museums and historic attractions in city center, many excellent restaurants nearby. Carlos and Karen provided absolutely first-class help for our entire stay, going over and above any owners we have ever met to make sure we had a wonderful stay on our first visit to Barcelona. We would recommend this lovely apartment to anyone who doesn't mind climbing a few stairs!

Firstly, reality matched the description. Portal Nou apartment has got everything - as someone said, it was a home away from home. As it is also said by previous guests, the location is the main asset, being in walking distance to nearly all of the sights and the beach. The neighbourhood in itself is really nice, with little shops to buy anything you may need. It is in the Born area, where there are many good restaurants. Mr Carlos and his employee Guillermo are very friendly and professional and we found dealing with them extremely pleasant. Finally, I would recommend this apartment to all those who want to discover the Old Town of Barcelona, its beach and the Gaudi buildings in a pleasant and safe apartment.
