Paris with a Roller Twist
Exploring Paris on wheels is one of the new trends that is making an impact on the tourism world today. And, no, we are not talking about cars or any other vehicle. We are referring to inline skating.
Surprised! So were we, when we first heard of it. But, when we gave it a thought, it appeared as a very obvious way of touring Paris in an environment-friendly manner without losing its romance. A feature promoted by the Rollers et Coquillages, a Paris-based inline skating association, inline skating through the boulevards of Paris makes the city come alive in a way that no other mode of commuting has been able to achieve.
Generally, tourists tend to get absorbed in the larger sights and whiz past numerous hidden gems. Inline skating gives tourists an opportunity to explore and get to know the city intimately as they incorporate even lesser known attractions lining the streets of Paris in addition to Notre Dame and other popular attractions.
There are several inline skating tours conducted for tourists either specifically on Sundays or at night; traffic is generally stopped on the streets to make room for the skaters who are led by a team of volunteers. More information can be found at http://
